Talks, Talks & More Talks!

I once read an article about the underdiagnosis of ADHD in girls. Show me a girl who gets straight A’s but is always in trouble for talking in class, the author said, and I’ll show you a girl with ADHD. Um, that was 100% me!

Thankfully, I’ve found a way to make a living from talking in class (and outside of it, too). In the last two months, I’ve spoken to the Whittier Home Economists; Rancho Palos Verdes Branch of the American Association of University Women; CSUF Faculty Development Center; Lifelong Learning Administration Corporation; and the CSUF Staff Professional Development Team Next week I’ll be participating in an authors’ panel at the Books Build Bridges event at the Peninsula Center Library (my local branch where I drafted the first chapters of More Than Pretty Boxes).

I also had the opportunity to be interviewed for Lowkey Confused, part of the HSS Explains series sponsored by the CSUF College of Humanities & Social Sciences. As a bonus for newsletter subscribers, you can see the full interview below. (I didn’t upload the video so please don’t think less of me for the misplaced apostrophe in the title!)

With warmth and solidarity,

Carrie
