It’s been a busy blur of a fall with a few exciting highlights.
In October, my very favorite month (Halloween + my birthday = awesome), More Than Pretty Boxes received an Honorable Mention from the 2025 Delmos Jones and Jagna Sharff Memorial Book Prize of the Society for the Anthropology of North America. It’s an honor to be included among the talented recipients of this year’s awards.

In September, I spent three fabulous days in Atlanta alongside fellow attendees of the Institute for Challenging Disorganization conference. I learned a lot, met some wonderful folks, and got to talk about why I love anthropology and how I ended up writing about professional organizers.

Next month, I’m off to New Orleans to attend the American Anthropological Association Annual Meeting, where I’ll be celebrating my PhD advisor, Kathryn Dudley, as she receives the Conrad M. Arensberg Award for outstanding contributions to the anthropology of work.

Wishing you a lovely last month of fall!
Carrie
