My Lovely Newsletter Subscribers,
I’m excited to announce the publication of an Exertions Book Forum on More Than Pretty Boxes, organized by the inestimable Ilana Gershon. The forum includes an interview with me, responses to the book from four colleagues, and my reply to their generous and insightful comments.

In other exciting news, I’m meeting tonight with the CSUF School of Nursing Book Club, which selected More Than Pretty Boxes as this month’s read. I’m honored to be included among their selections, which include Ann Patchett’s Tom Lake–such an honor!
If you’ve read More Than Pretty Boxes, I invite you to share your thoughts in a review for Amazon, Good Reads (which strangely features a cover that is not actually the cover of my book) or wherever else you purchase or borrow your books!
Finally, I’ve learned that a number of copies of the book were unfortunately published with pages missing or misordered toward the end. If you received one of those, you can get a free replacement copy. If you purchased your book directly from U of Chicago Press, email infocenter@uchicago.edu and they will happily send you a fresh copy. If you purchased via Amazon, you can return the book and purchase a new one (they’ve checked their stock and destroyed all copies with misprints) or ask them for a refund. I’m sorry this happened and that it got in the way of folks reading the book!
Bisy tim In late March, I’m off to be interviewed on the main stage at the National Association of Organizing and Productivity Professionals (NAPO) Summit in Chicago, then straight to Portland, Oregon, where I’ll present on my research at the joint meeting of the Society for the Anthropology of North America and Society for Applied Anthropology!

With warmest thanks for your continued support,
Carrie
